Brand Overview

808 HI-DR8 is a Hawai’i based bottle company that was started in 2014 to fill a void that was left by other stainless steel insulated water bottle companies that would not sell or cater to the smaller businesses in the Islands. We’ve created a Brand that’s inspired from the Hawaiian Islands that gives our customers a quality and eco-friendly product that’s affordable for all! We are Hawaii’s #1 Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottle and expanding across the United States as well as Internationally! Owning an 808 HI-DR8 Bottle is similar to owning a piece of paradise in our beautiful Islands of Hawai’i.

The Brief

808Hidr8 was looking to redesign and develop it’s website in order to better reflect the clean branding and clean products on its website. The new design needs to raise the standard of user experience (UX) across the whole site. 808hidr8”s aesthetic is minimal and sophisticated, and the customer’s user journey needed to reflect this on the site. Conversions was also a priority for 808, and this was the natural result fo the detailed UX improvements on the site. Ultimately, the site is simple and user-friendly, creating the perfect user experience, and increasing the chance of happy customers converting.

Our Approach

The increased conversion rate was as a core requirement for the new 808hidr8 site, and this went hand-in-hand with the user interface and user experience upgrades. Clear product photography on collection pages gives customers exactly what they are the search for along with descriptive product titles and descriptions and quickly add to cart buttons, making shopping easy to purchase as possible.This complemented by 808hidr8’s color gallery, which nurtures returning customers. The site is built so that repurchasing products is enjoyable and as easy as possible. This goes on step further on product pages, with additional product reviews and lifestyle photography showing the product in use, and it’s sustainable mission bottle brand.

Results

808hidr8 is all about supporting local businesses, high-quality bottles, and sustainability. So, it was essential the website reflect this in the shopping experience. Stripping back the homepage was important for ease of use- making this experience easy for customer increased the chance of email capture – making this experience beneficial on both ends. The navigation was also simplified to allow customers to browse the site intuitively.

Collection landing pages were introduced into the navigation so that customers are able to browse freely and see new sizes and colors of bottles. Finding the exact bottle you are looking for onsite takes no more than two clicks. Reducing the number of steps a visitor needs to get to checkout streamlines the process and reinforces the great customer service.

The site has no UX barriers (journeys that end in a customer getting stuck on a page without a way out). This reduces a customers chance of bouncing off the site whilst continually showing related products and additional content.
